Temple for Jerusalem
The Chariot-Throne-Crown for Temple Mount
The geometric and architectural relationships between the existing and new structures: The height of the new "heavens" (levels) is taken from the existing clerestory measurement, and the upper "wings" from the dome's form and curvature. These are integration design decisions based on existing site precedent.
New Temple’s architectural and geometric relationship to The Dome of the Rock.
Superimposing the temple measurement template over the Dome of the Rock plan and section, applied horizontally and vertically, allows us to find the spaces recorded in Ezekiel's Temple measurements, while interpreting the vision of Ezekiel ch.1 from the resulting 3-dimensional structure.
The basic observations and assumptions.
1: The Dome Plan has an overall external measurement of 50 x 50 s.i. metres.
2: This allows for a (9 x 9) 10 metre grid to extend over the site, with a 5 metre surround, totalling 100m2.
3: 4 interlocking triangles are placed within this grid, 1 metre wide in structural thickness.
4: An offset of 6 degrees exists for the tapering legs. The legs inner vertical spacing struts are defined by the Dome’s clerestory measurement. This is the height of each of the 8 levels (heavens) within the structure.
The resultant 3-dimensional structure sits over the Dome of the Rock, allowing for the full resumption of worship and ritual, with sufficient facilities, while maintaining the separation of function for a required sacred/profane hierarchy. The structure tends to inform.
Ezekiel Chapter 40-43 Core Measurements
Ez 01:vs 2 G-D brought me to the Land of Israel and set me on a very high mountain by which was as the frame of a city.
vs5-6: A wall on the outside the "House" round about is one measuring reed thick (breadth) and one reed high.
vs7-10: The chambers/alcoves are 6 by 6 cubits. The projections between chambers/alcoves are 5 cubits. The threshold of Gate is 1 reed deep. Note: The chambers (purple) are within the gate/wall structure. The 5m projections are between the post of the gates/wall. Surrounding structure is always 1m.
vs11: Gateway Entrance width is 10 cubits and length is 13 cubits. Note: Because of the 10 cubit measurement, this applies to the sanctuary, not the carrying structure, as 10:20:5 is the ratio of the Solomonic Temple.
Many more measurements can be interpreted from the template and model. The core measurements are recorded here for understanding.
Ezekiel's Vision Chapter 1
vs. 1: ... by the River Kebar, the heavens opened and I saw visions of God. vs. 4-5: ... a windstorm ... from the north ... an immense cloud with flashing lightning and surrounded by brilliant light. The centre of the fire looked like glowing metal, and in the fire looked like 4 living creatures: In appearance their form was that of a man.
vs. 6: ...each of them had 4 faces and 4 wings.
vs. 7: Their legs were straight; their feet were those of a calf and gleamed like burnished bronze.
vs. 8: Under their wings on the 4 sides they had the hands of a man. All four of them had faces and wings.
vs. 9: Each one went straight ahead; they did not turn as they moved. Note: They moved in unison and integration.
vs. 10: Each of the 4 had the face of a man; on the right side each had the face of a lion; and on the left side the face of an ox; each also had the face of an eagle.
The structural upright legs of the "man" continue to the 4 faces, including those that can be perceived of as animal likeness. The wings of the outer congregation and the upper wings cover these faces.
vs. 11: Their wings were spread upward, each had 2 wings; one touching the wing of another creature on either side, and 2 wings covering its body. vs. 12: Each one went straight ahead. Where the spirit went, they would go.
vs. 13: Their appearance was like burning coals of fire or like torches, fire flashed ...bright, lightning flashed out of it.
vs. 14: Creatures sped back and forth like lightning.
vs. 15-16: I saw a wheel on the ground beside each creature with its 4 faces. They sparkled like chrysolite, all 4 looked alike. Each ...like a wheel intersecting a wheel.
vs. 17: As they turned, they would go in the directions the creatures faced, and did not turn as the creatures went. vs. 18: Their rims were high and awesome and all 4 were full of eyes. vs. 19: Wheels moved and rose with the creatures. vs. 20-21: Moved with the spirit. vs. 22: ... expanse sparkling with ice, and awesome. vs. 23: ... under the expanse, their wings were stretched out toward each other, and each had 2 wings covering its body. vs. 24: ... sounds of wings, rushing waters. When still, they lowered their wings. vs. 26-27: ... above their heads was what looked like a throne of sapphire, on the throne was a figure of a man, waist up glowing metal, from there down, like fire, brilliant light surrounded him.
vs. 28: ... like a rainbow was the radiance around him.
Note: Sunlight reflects off the upper wings, concentrating light onto the jewels, (eyes), splaying rainbow light onto the structure's Throne Room and over Jerusalem. The smoke from the paper Altar (chariot seat) under the Holy of Holies, catches the light refraction, clothing the Holies in colour, symbolising G-D's presence, like Joseph's garment of many colours.
