Temple for Jerusalem
The Chariot-Throne-Crown for Temple Mount
Jewish/Israelitic References
In the creation story (Gen1: 2-6), "G-D's Spirit" moves (hovers) over the waters and causes the "separation of the waters". These "waters" refer to male and female waters, rain and well waters, best symbolised by 2 interlocking triangles, the geometric essence of the structure. Rain from the vast sky, falls as a single drop, the inverted pyramid. Well water from the vast sub-terrain, is tapped from a single well source, the pyramid.
The balance of the waters (insemination and fertilization) creates life.
Central to the Garden, (Gen 2:9) is the "Tree of Life" (umbilical cord) and the "Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil" (the phallus), from where 4 rivers (Pison, Gihon, Hiddekel and Euphrates -4 limbs) flow. 4 directions (N-S-E-W) are implied. The square/cube best symbolises a place from where 4 directions originate.
After the fall (Gen 3:24), G-D places Cherubim with flaming swords on the east side to guard the tree. These Cherubim that turned every way, are to be repeated in Ezekiel (Ez 1).
Note: The tree and garden are comparable to the human (male) torso where the serpent/phallus tempts at its base. Eating of the fruit is the mythic recording of scientific awareness, of humanity realising the creative powers of mixing waters. More specifically, it is the understanding of the role of "seed". As the consequence of the act of procreativity is understood, so too individual death is realised. When the beginning is conceptualised, so too is the end. This leads to the anxiety (you shall surely die), of self-awareness, of nakedness, by the lifting of the eyes scales, leading to fig leafs. Because of this knowledge, humanity is banished from the animal kingdom (Eden/Communion with G-D).
The serpent (negative phallic behaviour) is cursed along with humanity, forever adversarial, as humanity leaves the vicious immediacy of the hunter animal culture and enters into the safer seed based agrarian culture, allowing for the development of a literary tradition, to later be codified in story, the sequence edited by Moses, some collected from Sinai monasteries when escaping the Egyptian authorities, others from prevailing mythology.
Noah
G-D's covenant with Noah (Gen. 9:12) gives the promise that never again will the earth's life be so threatened. The rainbow symbolises this promise.
Note: The rainbow is the symbol of The Divine's presence and garment. The structure allows for this essential refraction of light. The top wings reflect light, through jewels, creating rainbow light surrounding the Throne Room. This is the Shekinah (feminine) light.
Abraham, Melchizedek and Moriah
Salem is where Abram and Ishmael met King Mechizedek and were blessed with Bread and Wine, who enacted circumcision.
The summit of Moriah is the place of Abraham's offering of Isaac for sacrifice. (Gen. 22)
Note: The sacrificial story of Isaac is an important theme on jealousy. There was jealousy between G-D and Abraham over Abraham's "love" for Isaac, Abraham in his faithfulness choosing G-D's wishes over his son.
This story is written in retrospect, as in its ascendancy, another nature is likely present. Abraham and Isaac wished to kill each other over Sarah (the Freudian Oedipal complex) and deferred this murderous impulse (with "angelic" help) onto the provided ram, due to a last minute entering into awareness. I suggest that Monotheism, at this point, aware of this common rivalry, built into itself a means to defer jealousy's destructive energy.
It is imperative that yearly sacrifice in any future temple for Jerusalem actualises and celebrates this deferment, as a release from jealousy and its consequences. This ritual (I suggest) was the basis of the original Passover sacrifice to remember the original deferrers and the conceptual gift from The Divine to humanity. The original Passover was a re-dedication to refuse to kill the first born, replaced by the Passover lamb, enacted and adopted by the extended Abrahamic family, prior to their Exodus from Egypt. Blowing the ram's horn on Rosh Hashanah formalises this remembrance. The progressive nature of Judaism.
Jacob's Dream
Jacob’s dream at Bethel (Gen. 28:10) is an important "Merkavah" viewing, of angels ascending and descending a stairway (or ladder) from earth and heaven. Note: The proposed structure raises entrants up through the ladder legs into the "Meeting Place."
Joseph
Joseph's coat of colours is symbolic of his divine blessing, colours of the rainbow. Note: His interpretation of Pharaoh's dreams are symbolic too, of bread and wine, the baker to die and the cup bearer's reinstatement, of the two messianic figures, one to die, the other to instatement (one of Joseph, one of David/Judah) which some interpret to be the journey of a single person.
Exodus
Moses at Horeb (Ex 3:40) experiences the Angel of the Lord from within a burning bush, yet the fire did not consume it. Moses removed his sandals and hid his face. Note: The image of the Burning Bush is related to that of a “tree” as recorded earlier in scripture, yet developed into 3 dimensions. Moses sees and speaks to the Angel of the Lord who is within the bush. Moses experience is volumetric as he sees the entire burning bush.
If it is acceptable to relate the burning bush image, to the tree image, to the "Merkavah", then it is acceptable to assume that Moses was the first to view the "Merkavah" in its entirety.
I suggest that Moses was looking at a stylised bush, the 'Merkavah" for a future Jerusalem. Conversely, this proposed "Merkavah" is a stylised bush of what Moses potentially saw. The images of bush and tree to Merkavah will be developed further. See Koran Hadith Note in Muslim references.*
"Parting of the Waters"
The Red Sea parting is of Moses redefining Male as male, Female as female after the degradation of these roles in Egypt.
Pharaoh's troops were drowned in the sea, as they were unable to keep the "waters" separated, i.e. incapable of masculine and feminine separation. Drowning relates to being destroyed by sensuality (see Noah, Jonah etc).
Pillars of Smoke and Fire
The Lord led Moses and the Israelites by a pillar of cloud by day and fire by night. These two pillars were to become the stylised Boaz (male/daytime/solar) and Jachin(female/night/lunar) pillars of the Solomon Temple, missing from the Herodian Temple, to return on this "Merkavah."
1 Kings
Elijah at Mount Carmel
(1Kgs 18: 30) Elijah repaired the altar that was broken down. He took 12 stones, according to the tribes of the sons of Jacob according to whom the word of the Lord came saying: "Israel shall be your name."
Trench around the altar capable of carrying 2 measures of seed.
Wood and bullock pieces placed and 4 barrels of water poured over sacrifice, second and third time. (12 barrels of water are poured.)
The trench was filled with water.
Evening sacrifice, the fire of the Lord fell and consumed the burnt sacrifice, the wood, the stones, dust and licked up the water in the trench. Elijah sends his servant to view for rain clouds.
This correcting period in Israel's history records the importance of the 12 tribes being called Israel.
The 12 stones (jewels) of the tribes are united to create an altar.
12 barrels of water are poured and consumed, a repeat of this number.
7 times Elijah's servant ascends the mountain to search for rain clouds.
Note: The proposed Merkavah has 7 heavens rising into a 12-pointed (double hexagram) 12-jewelled crown, carrying altar and Holy of Holies within.
Note: Elijah passes the chariot of Ahab in his run to the entrance of Jezreel, to avoid being bogged down by the rain which Israel so desperately required.
2 Kings
Prior to Elijah's ascent, in Elisha's company, separates the Jordan waters.
Elijah's ascent into heaven is thorough "Merkavism". After "dividing the waters" of the Jordan, suddenly a chariot of fire and horses of fire appeared and Elijah went up into heaven in a whirlwind. Elisha saw this and cried, "My father, my father! The chariots and horsemen of Israel!"
Note: This is the first mention of the "chariot and horses" aspect of the "Merkavah". This imagery is to be developed substantially in further scripture. Elisha calling "My father" implies a very personal spiritual relationship, without intermediary.
Psalms
Psalms is full of references to G-D on His Throne, Zion as His Holy Mountain, Earth as His Footstool and Crowning images of Spiritual Regality.
Psalm 11: The Lord is in his holy temple, the Lord is on his heavenly throne.
Ps 19: In the heavens he has pitched a tent for the sun, which is like a bridegroom coming forth from his pavilion.
Note: The tent relates to the canvas awnings that protect the worshippers from heat and light, when inside the proposed structure.
Ps 36: Both high and low find refuge in the shadow of your wings. They feast on the abundance of your house.
Ps 45: Your Throne, O G-D, will last forever and ever; a sceptre of justice will be the sceptre of your kingdom.
Note: The Boaz pillar is symbol of justice.
Ps 46: There is a river whose streams make glad the city of G-D, the Holy Place where the Most High dwells.
Ps 47: G-d reigns over the nations; G-d is seated on his Holy Throne. The nobles of the nations assemble as the people of the G-D of Abraham. (Abraham's descendants)
Ps 48: ...in the city of our G-D, His Holy Mountain. It is beautiful in its loftiness, the joy of the whole earth. Like the utmost heights... is Mount Zion, the City of the Great King. G-D is in her citadels. Walk around Zion, go around her, count her towers, consider well her ramparts and view her citadels.
Ps 61: I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings.
Ps 91: He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
Ps 93: The Lord reigns, he is robed in majesty, and is armed with strength. The world is firmly established, it cannot be moved.
Ps 99: ...worship at his footstool.
Ps 103: The Lord establishes his Throne in Heaven and his Heaven rules over all.
Ps 104: ...you are clothed with splendour and majesty. He wraps himself in light as with a garment.
He stretches out the heavens like a tent and he lays the beams of his upper chambers on their waters.
Note: A fuller read of Psalms gives further images and statements that can be interpreted by the proposed structure.
Song of Songs
Song of Songs is a love affair of G-D to His lover, His people, like the Bridegroom serenading His Bride.
Who is coming up from the desert like a column of smoke ...myrrh ... spices. Look! It is Solomon's carriage escorted by 60 (70 Sanhedrin?) warriors, the noblest of Israel...
(Songs 3:11) King Solomon made for himself the carriage, he made it of wood from Lebanon, posts of silver, base of gold. Seat was upholstered with purple, interior lovingly inlaid by the daughters of Zion, and look at King Solomon wearing the crown, the crown with which his mother crowned him on the day of his wedding, the day his heart rejoiced.
Note: This is a reference to Solomon being the same stature as Metatron, wearing the Crown, the marriage of Heaven to Earth, or of Solomon representing Justice, his mother Mercy, within the Crown. Hashem the Holy Father. (My daughter - my sister - my mother)
Isaiah
After the verses of detestable and meaningless offerings, a relief is stated.
Let us reason together, though your sins be like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. Note: Colour change on the Altar, from charred to sanctified.
Though they are like crimson (sacrificial blood), they shall be as wool.
Note: This refers to the bearded image/tassels, the Altar smoke curling like the beard of the wearer of the crown.
This speaks of the change in status and function of the altar, from active sacrifice to personal public faith. Sacrificed daily are the sins of Israel (on paper), yearly - the Atonement sacrifice. In the last days, the mountain of the Lord’s Temple will be established. Many people will say.... The law will go out from Zion, the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
I saw the Lord seated on a Throne, high and exalted, and the train of his robe (rainbow light) filled the temple. And above him were seraphs, each with 6 wings, with 2 they covered their faces, 2 covered their feet, 2 were flying, calling to one another: "Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord Almighty, the whole earth is full of his glory."
Note: Isaiah sees the "merkavah" with closed draw bridge entrances hence the "wings" covering their legs.
The Egyptians and the Assyrians will worship together. In that day Israel will be the third along with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing on the earth. The Lord almighty will bless them saying:
"Blessed be Egypt my people, Assyria my handiwork, and Israel my inheritance."
See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation.
Note: Cornerstone is a 3 axial stone, carrying weight, yet faceted on 2 elevational fronts.
I will create new heavens and a new earth.
Daniel
Daniel's interpretation of Nebuchadnezzar’s dream of the large golden headed statue being felled by a rock at its iron/clay feet, with the rock becoming a huge mountain filling the earth, is a dream of how rigidity (inflexibility) causes dispersion. The rock is the replacing force, which fills the earth.
3- axiality as a replacement to 2 axial binary.
The 4 figures in the furnace are a repeat of the 4 creatures within the fiery structure of the "Merkavah". Nebuchadnezzar's dream of the tree (himself) is reminiscent of the Holy Tree, cut down and dispersed, placed in bondage, the roots alive to sprout growth again.
Vision of the Ram and Goat, where the goats horn is broken off and in its place 4 prominent horns grew up towards the 4 winds of heaven, is reminiscent of the structures 4 pinnacles, the apex' of the 4 creatures. This dream may be related to the rebuilding of the sanctuary.
Important Note: The many dreams, interpretations and roles within Daniel are not for me to speculate, nor is it within me to understand further than the images that relate to the structure that I propose. I suggest that these images and roles will only be correctly interpreted retrospectively.
Hosea
Hosea prophesied during period of the 1st temple, Israel still dwelt in the Land.
"The Yalkut Shimoni" cites the conversation between the prophet and his maker which brought home to him how close is the tie that binds husband and wife, and by this example made him understand that G-D, having betrothed Israel to Himself at Sinai, could not abandon his unfaithful people without repeating attempts at reconciliation.
Joel
Your old men will dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.1 Enoch 14:8, 18, 20.
"Behold, in the vision clouds invited me and a mist summoned me, and the course of the stars and the lightnings sped and hastened me, and the winds in the vision caused me to fly and lifted me upwards, and bore me into heaven ... and I looked and saw therein a lofty throne ... and the great glory sat thereon, and his raiment shone more brightly than the sun ..."
I looked and saw therein a lofty throne: its appearance was as crystal, and the wheels there of the shining sun, and there was the vision of cherubim.
Underneath the throne came streams of flaming fire so that I could not look thereon. The great Glory sat thereon, His raiment shone more brightly than the sun, whiter than snow.
No angel could enter and behold His face, by reason of the magnificence and glory, and no flesh could behold him. Flaming fire was round about him, a great fire stood before Him, and none could draw nigh.
10 000 x 10 000 stood before Him, yet he needed no counsellor. The Most Holy Ones who were nigh to Him did not leave by night nor depart from Him. (Cherubim)
Haggai
The glory of the present house will be greater than the glory of the former house, says the Lord Almighty.
When anyone came to a heap of 20 measures, there were only 10. When anyone went to a wine vat to draw 50 measures, there were only 20.
Note: See Ezekiel ch41vs2 graphic for how the 40:20 relates to the 20:10 within the internal 50-cubit space. This is a crucial verse as it relates the measurements of Solomon (5:20:10) to the proposed structures relationship to the Rock.
Drop 50 from the upper pavement to the Rock, at the same time, project 20:10 horizontally into the courtyard creating the Priests Chamber and the Most Holy Place. If 40 and 20 are dropped from the upper pavement, the volumetric middle of the volumetric 20 sits on the centre of the actual Rock. This 20 measurement relates directly to the lofty 10 Throne Room, exactly 7 measures above the Rock. It is to these measurements that Haggai Ch42 vs. 2 has relevance. This verse relates the new position of the Throne Room to its original position, on the Rock.
Zechariah
I looked up and there before me were 4 horns. The angel asked me: What are these?
These are the horns that scattered Judah, Israel and Jerusalem. Then I saw 4 craftsmen. What are these coming to do?
These are the horns that scattered Judah so that no one could raise their head, but the craftsmen have come to terrify them and throw down these horns of the nations who lifted up their horns against the land of Judah to scatter its people.
Man with a measuring rod. I am going to measure Jerusalem to see how wide and long it is.
Another angel came to me and said: "Run tell that man that Jerusalem is a city without walls because of the great number of people and livestock in it. And I myself will be a wall of fire around it," declares the Lord, "and I will be its glory within".
I looked up again and before me were 4 chariots coming out from between 2 mountains. 1 with red horses; black; white and dappled.
Note: The Merkavah is 4 chariots in 1, 4 directional.
These are the 4 spirits of Heaven going out from standing in the presence of the Lord of the whole world. Black going North, White west, Dappled south.
Take silver and gold and make a crown and set it on the head of the high priest Joshua, son of Jehozadok. Branch, he will branch out from his place.
Note: In concluding the Pre-Herodian writings, there is a consistent appearance of the number 4. This relates to the proposed temple structure with its 4 structural legs rising into a "crown" made up of 4 interlocking triangles, (4 winds /rivers/ directions), 4 - sided place being defined by the cube.
Christian References
Jesus claim of the title "Son of Man", if of prophetic status, would assume statements or "viewings" of the "Merkavah".
His principal message seems to introduce the spiritual "Kingdom of G-D", (written on our hearts) which is central to the future "Merkavah" function. His principal action was to offer an alternative (or termination) to the personal sacrificial offering, as practised in the Herodian temple. He probably did this due to the shear numbers of sacrificial livestock becoming a logistical, monetary and aesthetic concern, undermining the sanctity of the Holy Place. Strict adherence to the law killed too many animals and ultimately himself.
Maccabean control had created an ethnically and gender divisive sacred/profane temple hierarchy, where Levitical Priests, as officiates, and Jewish men and Jewish women, were placed in spiritual authority over the "lost tribes" and gentiles. This differed from the Davidic/Solomon hierarchy of Zadokite Priests, Levitical servants and attending congregation.
A Temple in Jerusalem is a model of Heaven. As the angels are androgynous, gender is not a segregation requirement. Neither can the two surviving Jewish tribal identities claim segregation as Elijah took 12 stones and said Israel will be your name. It must be noted though, that Jerusalem borders the ancient Benjamin/Judah lands.
The Zadokite Priesthood had left Jerusalem in 154 BCE, retreating to Qumran and Leontopolis, replacing sacrificial practice with the breaking of Bread and Wine, the communal meal. I propose that Jesus might have gained Zadokite High Priesthood status, his spiritual assault on the Herodian Temple validated by his scriptural status. The tension between himself and the established authority, similarity of ritual to the Qumran community and his common popularity, seems to validate this.
Christian claims of Jesus' divinity seem to have parallels with Egyptian mythology (especially Horus). Christ's deification, was absorbed into a mythologically primed population, quite separate from Judaism. Clearly, virgin birth, death and resurrection have to be explained reasonably.
Matthew
John the Baptist says of Jesus that he will baptise with fire and the Holy Spirit. Fire is a central image of the "Merkavah", the Holy Spirit's presence being both flame and rainbow light.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called the sons of G-D.
Do not swear, either by Heaven, for it is G-D's Throne, or by the Earth, for it is his Footstool; or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the Great King.
Unless you humble yourself and become like little children, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven. See that you do not look down on these little ones. I tell you that their angels in Heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven.
I tell you the truth, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his Glorious Throne, you who have followed me will also sit on 12 thrones, judging the 12 tribes of Israel.
Parable of the Workers of the Vineyard: I want to give man who I hired last the same as I gave you. The last will be first and the first last.
Note: This alludes to the design where both Jews and Gentiles have the same status in the structure even though the Jewish people have "borne the burden of the work."
The stone that the builders rejected has become the capstone.
Note: This alludes to the rejected Zadokite Priesthood and their 3 dimensional (holistic) interpretations of scripture, rather than Levitical textual legality. Both are relevant, the first being contemplative, the second, legislative. For correct legislative interpretation, the contemplative balance between justice and mercy needs to be found. The congregation waits on the Levite as the Levite waits on the Zadokite.
At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the 4 winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.
Mark & Luke
Is it not written: "My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations."
"O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how long have I longed to gather your children together as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing. Look, your house is left to you desolate."
From now on, the Son of Man will be seated on the right hand of the mighty G-D.
Note: This is a reference to the wings under and on which worshippers sit, and the Boaz column on the Right Hand side of the Holy Place, that Christology (the solar column of Justice) signifies. It is important to note that Jachin, the lunar column of mercy/wisdom, balances Boaz.
John
You shall see heaven open, and the angels of G-D ascending and descending on the Son of Man. Trust in G-D, trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms. I am going there to prepare a place for you.
Note: The majority of Jesus' teachings are to do with refuting Levitical authority and introducing conceptual sketches describing what is required of the entrant to the "Kingdom of G-D." His role as the “Christ” of his time, was to keep sacredness alive in the personal spirit, preparing a way for a people without a spiritual centre, (no physical temple) until the arrival of the Kingdom of G-D.
Acts
Stephen's trial: Heaven is my throne and earth is my footstool. What kind of house will you build for me? Says the Lord. Or where will my resting-place be? Has not My hand made all these things?
Stephen looked up and saw the glory of G-D and Jesus standing at the right hand of G-D.
Note: Stephen sees the "Merkavah" with the Boaz column on the right hand side of the House. The status of Jesus is symbolic of this column, the nature of his ministry being solar movement based, the following and developing Christianity being a solar calendar pattern inherited from Egypt. Death and resurrection is its yearly cycle.
Hebrews
It is likely that the recipients of this letter were aware of the "Merkavah" visionary tradition and therefore were capable of accepting the images presented.
The Son is the radiance of G-D's glory and the exact representation of His being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand side of the majesty in heaven.
So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs. For to which of the angels did G-D ever say, "You are my Son; today I have become your father". Or again, "I will be his Father, and he will be my Son."
And again, when G-D brings his first born into the world, he says, "Let all G-D’s angels worship him." In speaking of the angels, He says: "He makes the angels wings, his servants flame of fire." But of the son he says: "Your throne O G-D, will last forever and ever, and righteousness will be the sceptre of your kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore G-D, your G-D, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy. To which of the angels did G-D ever say, Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet."
Revelation of John
John's Revelation is the culmination of "Christ-centred Merkavism." This complex and theatrical writing combines all the images that have been found thus far.
I turned around to see the voice speaking to me. And when I turned I saw 7 golden lamp stands and among the lamp stands was someone "like the son of man" dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet and with a golden sash around his chest. His head and hair were white as wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire.
His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters. In his right hand, he held 7 stars, and out of his mouth came a sharp double-edged sword. When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: "Do not be afraid. I am the first and the last. I am the living one; I was dead, and behold I am alive forever and ever. I hold the keys to death and Hades."
The 7 stars are the angels of the 7 churches and the 7 lamp stands are the 7 churches.
Ephesus: These are the words of him who holds the 7 stars in the right hand and walks among the 7 lamp stands...
Smyrna: Be careful even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life.
Pergamum: These are the words of him that has the sharp double-edged sword...
Thyatira: These are the words of the Son of G-D, whose eyes are like blazing fire and whose feet are like blazing bronze.
Sardis: These are the words of him who holds the 7 spirits of G-D and the 7 stars....
Philadelphia: These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David.... I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have so that no one will take your crown. Him who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of my G-D. Never again will he leave it. I will write on him the name of my G-D and the name of the city of my G-D; and I will also write on him my new name.
Laodicea: To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne just as I overcame and sat down with my father on his throne.
At once I was in the Spirit, and there before me was a throne in heaven with someone sitting on it. And the one who sat on there had the appearance of jasper and carnelian. A rainbow resembling an emerald encircled the throne.
Surrounding the throne were 24 other thrones and seated on them were 24 elders. They were dressed in white and had crowns of gold on their heads. From the throne came flashes of lightening, rumblings and peals of thunder, before the throne, 7 lamps were blazing. These are the 7 spirits of G-D. Also before the throne there was what looked like a sea of glass, clear as crystal.
In the centre, around the throne, were the 4 living creatures and they were covered with eyes, in front and in back. The first living creature was like a lion, second like an ox, third had a face like a man, the fourth was like a flying eagle.
Each 4 creatures had 6 wings and were covered with eyes all around, even under his wings. Day and night they never stopped saying: "Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord G-D Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come."
Whenever the living creatures give glory, honour and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives forever and ever, the 24 elders fall down before him who sits on the throne, and worship him who lives forever and ever.
They lay their crowns before the throne and say: "You are worthy O Lord and G-D, to receive glory and honour and power, for you have created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being."
Then I saw a lamb looking as if it had been slain, standing in the centre of the throne, encircled by the 4 living creatures and the elders. He had 7 horns and 7 eyes, which are the 7 spirits of G-D, sent out to all the earth.
Then I looked and saw the voice of many angels, numbering 1000s upon 1000s, and 10 000 upon 10 000. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. To him that sits on the throne and to the lamb be praise and honour and glory and power, forever and ever. The 4 living creatures said, "Amen", and the elders fell down and worshipped.
One of the 4 living creatures says in a voice like thunder, "Come"! Before me was a White horse. Its rider held a bow and he was given a crown and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest.
The 2nd living creature said, "Come"! Red horse was given power to take peace from the earth and make men slay each other. To him was given a large sword.
The 3rd living creature, "Come"! Black horse, its rider holding a pair of scales in his hand.
The 4th living creature, "Come"! Pale horse, its rider named death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over 1/4th of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague and by wild beasts.
I saw 4 angels standing at the 4 corners of the earth to prevent any wind from blowing on the land or on the sea or on any tree. Do not harm the land or the sea or the trees until we have a seal on the foreheads of the servants of G-D. 144 000 sealed.
I saw the New Jerusalem coming down out of heaven like a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.
Now the dwelling of G-D is with men, and he will live with them. It shone with the Glory of G-D and its brilliance was that of a very precious jewel, like jasper, clear as crystal. High wall with 12 gates has the 12 names of the 12 tribes of Israel.
12 foundations and on them were the names of the 12 apostles of the lamb.
12 000 stadia in length, and as wide and as high as it was long. Wall 144 cubits thick.
Foundations of precious stones: jasper, sapphire, chalcedony, emerald, sardonyx, carnelian, chrysolite, beryl, topaz, chrysoprase, jacinth and amethyst.
The 12 gates were of pearl, the great street was of pure gold, like transparent glass.
I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord G-D Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. The city does not need the sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of G-D gives it light and the lamb is its lamp.
Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of G-D and the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the Tree of Life, bearing 12 crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

Koran Verses
Ch LXIX: And eight shall bear the Throne of thy Lord above them, on that day.
The early 10C commentator Tabari, who habitually makes exhaustive use of traditional material in interpreting the texts of the Koran, quotes a "Hadith" which describes the Throne Bearers as having their feet on the 7th, lowest heaven. Their shoulders, which bear the throne, emerge from the heavens.
A variant adds: "Their feet are at the limits; Statements in Maybudi and Zamakhshari illuminate this last remark: "Their feet are at the limits of the earth’s, and the earth’s and the heavens are at their sides."
Note: Graphic of the geometric edges of the structure explains this.
"It is transmitted from the prophet; Do not contemplate the greatness of your Lord. Rather, contemplate the angels that G-D has created. There is an angelic creature called Israfil: One of the corners of the throne is upon his shoulders; His feet are on the lowest earth; his head has passed through 7 heavens. Yet he is as tiny as a little bird in comparison to the greatness of G-D."
Maybudi identifies the throne bearer in human form (as opposed to lion, ox, eagle) with Israfil.
The Serpent: Kisa'i speaks of a gigantic serpent that encircles the throne. Its head is of pearl, its body of gold, its eyes rubies. It has 40 000 wings made of precious stones. On each feather stands an angel, praising G-D.
Maqdisi, discussing the relationship between the terms "Arsh" and "Kursi" (2 Koranic terms for "throne") cites the opinion of the "traditionalists" (ashab Al-Hadith) that the Kursi is G-Ds footstool, the "Arsh" presumably being the Throne proper.
Those who bear the throne and all who round about it, hymn the praises of their Lord and believe in Him and also forgiveness for those who believe ... (Surah 40 vs. 7)
And the angels will be on the sides thereof (of heaven) and eight will uphold the "Throne of the Lord that day, above them." (Surah 69 vs. 17)
G-D gives instructions to the throne bearers. He tells them that He created them to carry the throne, and He offers them whatever they will of strength. One asked for the strength of water, since the throne has hitherto rested on water, second asks for strength of Heavens, Third for the strength of the Earth, Forth for the strength of winds.
"The heavens and earth and all the creatures therein are contained in the "kursi". 4 Angels bear it by G-D's leave."
1st angel is human image, the most noble before G-D. He invokes G-D continuously, intercedes for human beings, praying for their sustenance.
2nd angel is the image of a bull, invokes G-D continuously for all the domestic animals.
3rd is the eagle image, lord of the birds, and 4th, the lion, intercedes for the sustenance of the wild beasts.
Koran Hadith Note*: A most disturbing Muslim Hadith: “The Antichrist will pass by this salty barren area i.e. Madinah, in a passage of a canal. Most of those who will come out to him will be women so that a man will return to his intimate wife, mother, daughter, sister or aunt to tie them up for fear that they might go out to him. Then, Allah will afflict him with Muslims who kill him and his followers and the Jews will hide behind a tree or a rock and the rock or the tree will say to the Muslim: There is a Jew behind me, come and kill him!”
Yet, the tree image within scripture, if transposed into the "Merkavah" structure, sitting over the sacred apex rock of Moriah/Horeb, suggests the if Jews are "hiding" in the Merkavah, over (behind) the rock, then killing them on both the sacred site and within the sacred vehicle would be profound blasphemy, against all the viewing prophets, including Muhammad. This Hadith seems rhetorical, as what other significant tree and/or rock combination exists in scripture? it's important to remember comedy when interpreting reconciliation.
